Continuing our celebration of the 200th anniversary of the invention of the bicycle, the Engineering Club has assembled a diverse range of presentations to explore the modern development of the bicycle. Professor Chris Burgoyne will look at how the modern bicycle wheel functions as a tension structure. We will launch a short video about the bicycle inventor Mike Burrows and Mike Burrows will be attending in person to give a quick update on progress with South Bank University to take on the Battle Mountain human-powered land speed record.
We will also have a preview of a biography of Sir Alex Moulton, engineer and pioneer of bicycle suspension.
