The Engineering Club is hosting an event in response to the recent Nine Elms Bridge Competition. All members are are welcome, if you entered the competition or not. However the purpose of the event would be to give entrants the opportunity to present and discuss their schemes and discuss the outcomes of a competition of this sort.

The competition generated some eye-catching images against a very open brief. Within these were some interesting engineering and design responses which are worth exploring. The competition also reopens the debate about whether bridges should be commissioned through open competition involving everyone from artists to landscape designers, or whether there should be a preferred engineering solution first and foremost. There must also be questions asked about the merits of a competition for a bridge only supported on one side (not Westminster).

Please come along and make a short presentation about your entry/ies and share your views.
